Under the payment plan of the base rent, if you still can not make my monthly student loan payments, what happens?
What if I had to pay what can only afford (after my other more pressing expenses), even if less than the monthly payment is IBR? I guess that at least they're getting some money from me. If bad comes to worse, I have to seek work abroad. As a PhD, I think it is very feasible. Or maybe could only become a citizen of a foreign country and live / work there instead of here in the U.S.. Sorry, but I think the education system here is so primitive and capitalist. Why can not be free, as in Sweden and other countries?
I think we have a similar set in the United Kingdom except that the payments are deducted from your paycheck (like income tax, etc.), so I never get the chance to defraud. However, if after 25 years they have failed pay the balance by the deductions, write off for you! maybe this would work, if it maintains a low-wage employment for the next 20 years may not have to pay back some or all …
